Lots of interesting and economical books in scifi, fantasy, etc for sale Hell, I give em away Just ask I have six books in audio format.I spent 35 years making a lot of money from writing Probably than most authors earn in their lifetime But that was writing technical manuals and documentation What that experience did was teach me how to write This is not something many other writers learn to do until they decide to write their first fiction book I m a professional writer What this means for the reader is they won t get clumsy, ungrammatical, misspelled prose which appears to be the norm of most newbie fiction writers. There I ve said it I m a better writer than most Whether you like my stories is an entirely different thing At least with my books, you won t have to suffer through poor writing to find out whether you like the book or not If you like erotica, then I m not the writer for you.

  • I liked the first book of Tales a lot, but this second book topped it. The story is intriguing and delightful. It had depth of meaning and lessons on values woven simply into the story and characters, yet it is the story itself that is primary. The descriptions of characters, scenery, and action were very rich. The action never lags; it kept me interested. I felt pleasure and enrichment in reading this story.

  • An Enjoyable Read for ChildrenFaizah’s Destiny is a tale set in a fictional Middle East that follows the adventures of four village children as they undergo a process of growing up and learning about themselves. It draws on Persian and other Middle Eastern myths for its fantasy elements, including a set of gods and demons and the great mythical bird the Simurgh (equivalent to the Roc, Ziz, or Phenix in related mythologies). (I found the Simurgh a bit of an anticlimax, however – it just wasn [...]

  • As a fan of Marva Dasef's The Witches of Galdorheim Series, I had to try Faizah's Destiny, which turned out another charming read. While roaming enchanted worlds and meeting magical creatures, Faizah and her friends struggle with problems every young and old reader can relate to. Follow your dream or stay loyal to your friends? Why shouldn't a girl be allowed to come along on the quest she suggested? And what to do about those bullies?

  • Here's my critique of one reviewer's assessment. He wondered why Faizah never questioned the direction she is being led by Menog, a mysterious little man claiming to know where the Simurgh can be found. The reviewer possibly missed the part when the Goddess Anahita spoke directly to Faizah informing her of the impending war and the role Faizah will take in it. Did he skip the part when Anahita reports back to Ahura Mazda, the equivalent of Zeus or Odin, and the two gods flat out say they're manip [...]

  • The head of market storyteller, Abu Nuwas, contains many a story, as shown in the first book of tales, Setara’s Genie, in which the tales are told to a young spice seller. This time round Abu is regaling a young lame boy, telling him the story of a missing magician, and the students who go looking for him. Led by a farmer’s daughter named Faizah, an orphan, a slave, and a rich man’s son all work together to find Master Wafai. Complicating things is Dev, the god of war, who hankers after st [...]

  • Many fantasies are centered around fairies or dwarfs or elves, but the cool thing about this book was that it centered around mythology from ancient Persia. Intrigued? You should be. I would really recommend this book to a fantasy lover looking for something a little differentTo read the complete review over at The Book Buff, click here: thebookbuff/2010/-Kate the Book Buff

  • Getting the review ball rolling.Set in a very different fantasy world, not much seen since the amazing Sinbad adventures. Alas, the mythology of the middle-east is being ignored in fantasy writing. But this novel featuring the gods and demons of pre-Islamic times evokes memories of 1001 Arabian Nights. Maybe this isn't a classic, but it's a great book for middle-graders which might encourage them to delve into the middle-eastern myths.
