  • Adult review for erotic content. Trigger Warning : Dubious Consent."Aidon, are you trying to recapture your youth with nubile young virgins? What's next, a new red chariot?"The first thing you should know : Surrender of Persephone is PwP (Porn Without Plot) erotica. Here's where I pull out my apples-to-apples genre rating comparison because I'm only rating this compared to other PwP, not other "stories" in general. Now, PwP doesn't necessarily mean that there is no plot at all; what it generally [...]

  • I loved this BDSM elaboration of an ancient Greek myth & legend. Selena Kitt has taken the legend of the god Hades AKA Aidon who captures goddess of spring Persephone and whisks her off to his underground world that he rules over. Kitt uses delightfully descriptive BDSM themed sex scenes for Aidon to seduce Persephone, bed her and wed her, making her Queen of the Underworld to reign and rule beside him but never to return to the earth's surface. This legend is brought to life, characters giv [...]

  • This was a very clever erotic retelling of the Persephone myth. Although the story is based firmly in the magical world of gods and goddesses, the characters themselves are quite human in personality. I enjoyed watching Persephone grow from a self absorbed girl who is chafing at her mother's restrictions to a queen in her own right and able to make mature decisions and compromises.

  • Before u roll your eyess its an erotic novel. But, i went through a greek mythology stage and this stuck to facts and entertained me completely if i could give more than five stars i would!

  • It was really interesting twist to Greek myth of Persephone and Hades. Very very kinky twist with elements of BDSM and F/F/F. Fun read.

  • Retells the Classical Greek myth of the virgin goddess of spring, Persephone, and her abduction by the god of the Underworld, Hades. In myth, Persephone grows into her role as queen of the Underworld to become a powerful and mysterious goddess. In Kitt's uncensored version, Persephone chafes at her mother Demeter's restrictiveness and dim view of males, both human and divine. On her way to gather wild flowers for her mother's harvest festival, Persephone pauses to watch a mortal laborer bathe in [...]

  • Right now this is a FREEBIE!!!!! I do so luv my warnings!!Warnings: This title contains erotic situations, graphic language, lesbian (FFF) sex, bondage, spanking, branding and a multitude of drama and romance between the Queen of the Underworld and the god of her dreams. Not one of my fav readings of Ms Kitts, but still, if you are looking for a very naughty twist to the Greet Myth of Hades & Persephone, I'd recommend :)

  • This was really good, like, I expected very little, just a quick and sexy read, but it was so much more. I am completely impressed by the authenticity of the myth and characters, but adjusted to fit our sexy story

  • This book just wasn't my cup of tea. I knew I was coming into a very erotic book but for some reason it was just too much for me in this one particularly. I did enjoy the non-sexual scenes but it was like every 4 pages they were having sex again. Could have been amazing but the sex just made the book exhausting.

  • Selena Kitt's retelling of the Greek Mythology has its own spice and twists. This story comprises erotica, which I think some wouldn't like. Yet, the sensual scenes between the two lovers are what made this story worth it.

  • MythsGrowing up, I always wondered if and now I want more. I really enjoyed this story. Can't wait for book two.

  • Synopsis: "Sheltered Persephone, Goddess of Spring, never gets to do anything- thanks to the suffocating love of her mother, Demeter. Sephie is being carefully groomed to follow in the footsteps of the two -virgin- goddesses, Athena and Artemis, and while they sure do have a lot of fun together, she longs for something deeper-and darker. When Aidon, the God of the Underworld-generally known as Hades-appears in his chariot to claim Persephone for his bride, the young goddess gets more than she wi [...]

  • Clare C’s ReviewThis was not the story of Persephone and Hades we learned in school. All the parts of the myth are there. Kitt does a great job of working in the details of related myths, and this novel is populated by the Underworld’s best supporting characters. One of the best things about myths is that the details are sketchy. This leaves a lot of room for a creative mind like Selena Kitt’s to fill them in.Persephone, Sephie to her friends, is the Goddess of Spring. She is stolen away b [...]

  • **This is a Window Seat Blog review readinginthewindowseat.blo**This was an interesting, more sexual retelling of the myth of Persephone and how she got to the Underworld (a.k.a, how she was kidnapped by Hades). Selena Kitt is a good writer who definitely knows how to write erotic fiction. I won't giveaway the book by telling you all the different things that Persephone and Aidon "try out" together, but there are a lot. Like, A LOT, A LOT. There was definitely loads of variety in this book. I [...]

  • I am a big fan of the Hades and Persephone myth and when I heard about this book, I was definitely curious to read it! Persephone felt like a real character to me, smothered by her mother and all. Her thoughts and emotions felt real, and Hades sounded very hot. The story was overall faithful to the original myth and the main characters were concrete enough to be convincing. However, this story took a turn into BDSM with several painful scenes that I didn't expect. Ms. Kitt is a good author who ha [...]

  • This is my first book by this author. I decided to read it mainly because the myth of Persephone is my favourite one. There was some stuff in here that I found was grey area questionable, but I wasn't shocked though I think the fact that this story is mythical allowed me to suspend a lot of belief. If some of what had happened had been in the real world, I think I would have been really bothered by it. I wouldn't rate it a solid 3 stars though, more like a 2.7. The overall story follows the myth [...]

  • I think I either picked this up for free on or very very cheap. Look, Persephone and Hades is my favorite myth, bar none. I'm always looking for new retellings of this very old story, a new twist to the myth I know so well. And, well, this was different.Normally, Hades is my favorite character in these stories. (Historically speaking, I think Hades is quite misunderstood, but that's neither here nor there.) But Aidon just wasn't doing it. I know the bend that this particular story has, but Aido [...]

  • I really liked this and I think the ending was actually sad :(.So Persephone, daughter of Zeus, is the virginal goddess of Spring. She is curious about men but her mother shelters her and actually makes her wear a locket that holds off men's impure advances. Well one day she is the meadow and she takes off the locketess who appears, Aidon better known as Hades. Aidon basically kidnapped her and took her to the Underworld. Now the Underworld isn't exactly what you expect, there is beauty theren't [...]

  • I usually breeze through Selena Kitt books (and not just because they are mostly short stories) however, this book could not keep my interest. I was really really excited to read this at first. It seemed right up my alley. I love Greek Mythology, love the story of Persephone and Hades (Adion in the book). I thought, "Hell YEAH Greek mythology, Hades, sex, sign me up". But, sadly it took me literally weeks to finish this because I just couldn't get into it. The characters were not very interestin [...]

  • The characters for Selena Kitt's, The Surrender of Persephone are straight from Greek myth and legend but Selena Kitt has put a very lusty, kinky and down right hot spin on their tale. Not one to necessarily enjoy reading Greek mythology, this was certainly a much kinkier version of the tale of Persephone, goddess of Spring. Persephone has been groomed by her goddess mother Demeter, to the life of a virgin goddess but sweet little Sephie finds herself craving something more. Aidon, the god of the [...]

  • It's book porn, not like the fun OMG I really love this book couldn't stop watching book porn. It's literally book porn. No plot and boring and the I did like wasn't too great either. But if you're looking for just a hot 200 pages full of pure sex that this is isn't all that bad of a choice . I got bored halfway in and I wasn't in the mood for what it had to offer. this kind of book can be done right if you read Alexa Riley's Breeding series the first one is Coach, which I highly recommend. That [...]

  • So this one almost made it to my favorites list. The only reason it didn't is because I didn't completely connect/fall in love with either character. The world building was great and the "persephone and hades BDSM" spin was really unique. The BDSM scenes were off the charts good and maybe part of that was because of the dub-con aspect of it all. The world building was interesting and engrossing. There was a pretty hot scene at the beginning which I won't spoil for you except to say it involved 3 [...]

  • wowwwwie what a good book i was captivated from page one, wondering if this has a sequal? would be intresting to find out how her mother is taking the news of the happy couple? errrr not good im guessing but good for sephie she stood up for herself selena kitt books sometimes borders on cruel giving us only half a story keeping us wanting this book is no exception, not too fond of the beginning of the book but her she was supposed to be a virgin right? well bravado for the writing skill of the 3 [...]

  • Warning: on my "rated NC-17" shelf for a reason. Hmmotic interpretation of Hades' capture of Persephone. Liked the concept, though the execution fell a little flat - and that's even with my abundant fondness for mythology-based stories. Found myself not really caring about the characters, as they themselves seemed to be acting their way through the story. It was as if I was reading a play about actors acting the roles in a play about Hades/Persephone. Not really sure if that makes sense, but the [...]

  • I rather enjoyed this decadent tale of dominance and submission. Selena Kitt is a wonderful author, and I'm delighted that she isn't afraid to venture into edgy erotica. Those who know me, know I'm a big fan of BDSM, but I'm also rather picky about it too. I always thought the myth of Hades and Persephone had a D/s slant to it, so I'm thrilled to read a well-written story that turned the myth into an an erotic BDSM romp.

  • 3.75 stars This was a really interesting read of Gods and Goddesses. Persephone, the goddess of Spring, she's yearning to be free from her mother Demeter, the goddess of Agriculture. Demeter always warns her daughter, of men's motives and what they want from a woman. Aidon or Hades, the god of the Underworld, knows what he wants he goes and gets it. I felt the characters weren't really developed in the story. It was a good story, quick read.

  • This was hot as hell! That's pun intended too! I liked the author's take on the god of the Underworld, his being Dom suited him just fine, and Persephone got what she wished for. It was amusing how Hephaestus made adult toys though. There's an FFF scene here so those who are not into that might not enjoy that part, but it's only one scene. The story was very well in line with the mythology and I enjoyed the hell of it.
