  • A highly original and interesting book on the cuisines of Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. Beautiful photography and commentary make it feel more like a travel journal than a cookbook, but the recipes we've tried have been very good so far. I believe they are also much more authentic than most Asian cookbooks. The only serious problem with the book is that many of the ingredients are difficult to find unless you have access to a high quality Asian market, or are willing to order them online. Not [...]


  • I liked what I read of it, including his personal history with cuisine - but in the battle between cookbook and oversized coffee-table book, oversized won. The book was literally too larged for me to read while at table, or to balance in my lap while sitting in my reading chair.Contentwise, I was a little turned-off by his copyright symbols in the text.Would have finished it and probably loved it and made some dishes were the book 2/3 its current dimensions.


  • I took a Craftsy Thai cooking class by Robert Danhi and enjoyed the way he presented the food so ended up buying two of his cookbooks. I like this style of cookbook with a lot of commentary about the food ingredients and such. I've made a couple of things from the cook book and they were good.


  • Beautiful cookbook, and lots of interesting information about Southeast Asian cuisine. None of the recipes particularly appealed, due to the massive amounts of meat and seafood featured.
