FROM AUTHOR S WEBSITE I m a native of central Maine, and grew up on a small farm with a wonderful mom and dad, three sisters and a brother Most of my books take place in small towns, many of them in Maine My husband, Jim, and I moved to his birth state, Oregon, for a while after we were married, but decided to move back to Maine and be near my family It allowed our six children to grow up feeling close to their cousins and grandparents, and some of Jim s family have even moved to Maine Our children are all home schooled When Jim retired from his vocation as an editor at a daily newspaper, we moved from Maine to Kentucky.I ve always loved reading, history, and horses These things come together in several of my historical books Another longtime hobby of mine is genealogy, which has led me down many fascinating paths I m proud to be a DAR member Some of Jim s and my quirkier ancestors have inspired fictional characters For many years I worked for the Central Maine Morning Sentinel as a freelancer This experience was a great help in developing fictional characters and writing realistic scenes I also published nonfiction articles in several magazines and had several short stories appear in Woman s World, Grit, and Alfred Hitchcock s Mystery Magazine.

  • A lot of repetition in this book. I was reading the second story in this novella and thought there was a misprint because the illness that was described in the first story was repeated in the second story word for word. I couldn't finish this book. It just didn't interest me.

  • Four friends meet at an early Christmas party. As the snow begins to fall the party breaks up with the girls going their separate ways. Four separate stories tell about their romance at Christmas.Novellas are enjoyable because they are so easy and fast to read, but often suffer from lack of plot or character development. This was the case here. The stories about Rose and Natalie were my favorites, but the other two dragged them down a bit. I couldn't find anything about most of the characters to [...]

  • Four friends head out from a Christmas party and get trapped in various locations with various guys in a 6 day Christmas blizzard. I loved the final two stories, especially Trish and Jared. Also, most snowed in/blizzard fics are from 1800s, I liked that this was 1913. All the new fashioned people were stuck because their cars were useless and they had to wait for people who still used sleighs, ha.

  • I loved the stories! Historical Christian Fiction is my favorite & I loved the wholesome storylines where you really felt like you were in the story. Winter is the time to slow down and just be in love like the characters in these stories.

  • First section was really good exciting and easy to read. Other parts were a bit harder until i got through pieces that were in first book other than that book was great and I'd recommend it to anyone

  • Good Christian theme book 4 people and 1 winter snow storm and their lives - really surprised after thinking I won't finish this one but I did.

  • Sweet stories. However, the only reason I gave this collection two stars is because they are set in Denver. A lovely Christmas read.

  • I liked the first three stories but after that it kind of tired me out. Still I thought they were cute stories.
