  • I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.I really enjoyed this book. It was a suspense and kind of thriller novel with an easily predictable twist (I guessed it in the second chapter), but enjoyable plot nonetheless.Tara wakes up in hospital after an overdose, having never used drugs. She then embarks on a journey in order to retain custody of her son, Wylie, with the help of defence attorney and childhood friend Reid, who isn't altogether conv [...]

  • Interesting mystery.Story about Tara and her friend Reid, they were there to support and help each other when they were growing up. Now Tara needs held, calls on him. Reid is not satisfied with his life, and defending guilty people. He has good and giving friends around. Angels and demons fighting to get what they want.

  • "A steady-paced thriller"This will appeal to several types of reader. It's a thriller, wrapped up in a romance, and tied with a mystery bow. Not really my kind of book, but it's well-written, and with believable characters and situations.

  • Story ok, drew me inand won me over.Narrator has a pleasant voice.Male voices recognizable but, could be a bit deeper.

  • It started out so promising!!! Not only was the twist relatively predictable, it was pretty far fetched. The characters were interesting but I still have unanswered questions

  • Decent book. The characters seemed like real people but not much of a mystery in my opinion. It was entertaining and something light to read. I will check out more books by this author.

  • This book is an absolute stomach twister. Just imaging all the things that Tara goes through makes my skin crawl. She tells the truth over and over but no one believes her. Not even the one person that should have believed her right from the beginning. And in the middle of all the drama, her little boy is taken, placed with the people that mean her harm, and Tara isn't even allowed to see or reach out to him. There was nothing for her but to fight, and fighting she sure did to prove everyone wro [...]

  • Excellent, quick read. Quick because I never wanted to have to stop reading! I figured out the "bad guys" pretty early in the book, but it was still a pleasure moving toward that conclusion. Ms. Stewart has created an incredible woman in Tara, and Reid's coming around was fun to read. The story is suspenseful and unique, and the story lines casual and believable.

  • I read this late into the night. I never thought that I would have this moment ever again, and with this type of book, no less. I have never really tried mystery books, but the plot of this had intrigued me so much that I had to read it. The way that the words are articulated and written is so captivating that it makes me flip the pages, making it a book that I could not put down. It was great, and I definitely loved it!

  • Tara wakes up in a hospital and is told she'd left her toddler in a parking lot and OD'ed on heroin. Now she's being arrested, needs to prepare a case, will likely lose her child to the system, and most probably will go to jail. The catch? She's never done drugs. And she's pretty sure someone's framing her for all this. Tara desperately calls her childhood friend Reid, now a defense attorney, and he must not only believe this crazy story, but build a case to prove it and defend it in court.Sever [...]

  • Tara woke up in a hospital, strapped to the bed and confused. When she was told she was brought in for an overdose, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. When she was told that her three year old son, Wylie, was with child protective services, she lost her mind. Tara had never done drugs before and she would never endanger her son. He was her whole life. Yet, she was found in an alley with a needle in her arm and Wylie was found cold in a shopping cart, suffering from hypothermia. She was s [...]

  • Note: In exchange for an unbiased review, the author, publisher, and/or narrator were kind enough to provide an audio version of this book at no charge via AudiobookBlast. Most of this book was quite compelling to listen to; there weren't really any moments of "get ON with it", as it flowed so well. The narrator did a good job of bringing the characters to life and the mystery was decent enough (though not all that hard to figure out at all). The backstory of the two main characters helped to add [...]

  • Crime Thriller with a Second Chance HEA. I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom. I really enjoyed the writing and the narrating of this audiobook that I looked up others by the same author. I'm curious about the other series featuring characters that made an appearance in this story. This book was a great mystery, thriller with a clean romantic element that didn't overpower the story, but your anxi [...]

  • I obtained this free e-book from and I am voluntarily writing a review. Tara is a single mother to her two year old son Wylie. He is her whole world and she works hard to make ends meet and provide everything he needs. That is why the nightmare that she woke up to does not make sense. Waking up in the hospital handcuffed to the bed with a police officer at the bedside telling her she was found overdosed with a needle of heroin in her arm and her baby was a half mile away at night in the cold in [...]

  • I'm going to keep this short and kinda sweet. As an avid reader of this particular genre, I found this novel to fall a bit flat. I was able to figure out the culprit very early on and going forward after that point mostly took the enjoyment out of reading this novel. There was a semi-romance going on as the B plotline, but there wasn't any heat in the romance. In fact, there was a lot of focus on this big mystery between the two main characters regarding their relationship as kids and when that [...]

  • Interesting, heartbreaking, yet so possibleMy only complaint was the slower moving plot. I usually dive into a book and there is no stopping. Being a foster family ourselves, I really wanted to read this just out of curiosity. The story itself is heartbreaking, and could easily happen to anyone. (That's the really scary part) however, I have never seen anyone that had a lawyer and a PI working for them to figure out the who and what. Overall, it was an excellent read, just a little far-fetched o [...]

  • My Review:A exellent story!psychological thriller/romance,crime!A easy reading story and well written in such a way that it get the readers full attention and keep on reading story full of emotions ,intriques and actions, even crimeand at final refinding romance with her childhood friend!Lovely story line and best main characters but the other did a nice job in the story! For me a pleasure to read and keep on reading, I am sure I gine read more books from Danielle! As these are high level psycholo [...]

  • I honestly read this book because it was free. That being said my expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was intense I was anxious while I was reading and I could 100% relate to the main character. I'm sure part of my ability to relate came from the fact that I'm a mother but I think anyone who read this could sympathize. I loved the book all the way up til the point when you find out why this is happening to this poor lady and then The plot blew up and I found it to be a litt [...]

  • The story is fairly predictable and the character development is so slow that you begin to question yourself. Moreover, the big reveal near the end seemed obvious from the gitgo, but then I might be a tad jaded when it comes to churches and self-righteous religious hypocrites. I liked the way the story flipped into the past on occasion and gave us backstory on the characters, explaining why Reid felt he owed Tara something. All in all, it was an easy read that comes across as well researched and [...]

  • Very ExcitingWonderful story, believable characters. In the beginning, no one wants to believe Tara. She's arrested for a drug overdose and for child endangerment. It looks hopeless. An old friend from childhood tends to disbelieve her, but agrees to help get her sentence reduced, if she will take a plea. She does not want to take a plea to lesser charges, because she knows she is innocent. The plot gets thicker and even more dangerous. To see how it all evolves, you have to read the book.

  • I loved this book. Need a new mystry not sure about this book pick it up. It kept me wondering what was happening and why. I didn't figure it out until the end. This book will keep you guessing and up all night if you don't finish it. I received the audio copy and loved the narration along with the story line. You should pick up this book you will not regret it. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review

  • Three Seconds To Rush grabbed my attention from the first chapter. The narration was well done and the main characters were complex and well developed. The story was interesting and I enjoyed the romantic aspect as well. Overall, a very enjoyable listen and I would recommend this.I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator. This review is my honest opinion.

  • DisjointedlI can only give an opinion of three stars to this book. I found the lead character to be a too-cute version of a single mother, the childhood friendship too sweet and the overall narrative disjointed. The story itself seemed to come second to the cutie characters and the crime solving process - when it eventually occurred - was lacklustre. Where there should have been grit, I found sugar dust. Sorry. I appreciate the huge amount of work put in to writing a book .

  • Not my kind of stuff.I sped through 60℅ of this book and didn't feel cheated. I guess to be kind the story was predictable. The main male character was pretty sad, glad I don't know him. The story had a chance through some of the book but in the end ( SD tart and middle) didn't come through.

  • Captivating tear jerkerMs. Stewart has written a heart jerker, a wonderful manufactured story that is more realty than fiction. She puts the reader in the center, feeling the emotion of the characters and makes it difficult to stop reading. It definitely is a story that you will read to the end in one sitting, so you can find out what happens to Tara!!! Get it today

  • I was drawn into the story line immediately. Instantly I found myself getting anxious and or angry over the character's problems! Glad I came across this little gem! Will look into more by this author for sure!

  • Well written This is a well written book and enjoyable characters. The only thing wrong is I figured out who two of the people, who were villains by about the fifth chapter. I still enjoyed reading it though

  • A good premise, a sympathetic victim. But too much relationship drama got in the way of the detective story. Two people not being honest with each other, then lying for each other. I figured out the bad guys about half way through.

  • Three Seconds To RushGreat book - easy and engaging read. Couldn't wait to see how this happened to Tara. Although I did figure out part of it before it was revealed, I couldn't wait to see how things were put into action.
