  • An excellent book for tying up all the ends of sloppy thinking and moving out of comfort zones. If you're a procastinator and fed up with it, this is the book for you.But it does require a level of commitment. It gets results if you follow the exercises. You will be "doing" 10 days after beginning the book, as it turned me from an overweight procrastinator into a slim, fit, "do-er".No other books like this one, so get it NOW!!

  • For a book with "self-" in its title it is an exceptionally well written one. Bryant knows what he is talking about, it is not another kind of miracle-you-don't-even-have-to-finish-it-to-be-a-superman book. It is coherent, filled with advices and stories based on careful analysis of the way human mind works, and backed up with observations Bryant made during his long career in the field. You can read it in parts, it is designed for people who lack time, but doing what it tells you to do, you wil [...]

  • This is hands down the best book on self-discipline I've ever read. It goes through psychological exercises to help pin point your particular breakdowns in discipline, then uses practical tools to counter them. The book starts out a little hokey and sometimes appears like it's saying the usual advice, but then has a few recommendations added on that make all the difference. Stick with the book, and do the exercises.Could not recommend this book more.

  • It's the cheesy, hokey feeling that prevented me to keep on reading this book. If you are like me, you would prefer actually learning about the real nature of willpower based on scientific experiments, so this book probably won't satisfy you. For a deeper understanding on willpower, you may want to give "Willpower Instinct" by Kelly McGonigal a try.

  • The book taught me why we procrastinate. I've never really thought about it before so that helped me a lot.I think that the steps in the book require more effort than the tasks I have to complete so I stopped using them after a few weeks. It did motivate me to create my own method to be more organized and stop procastinating so in a way it changed my life.

  • Deceptively simple, but effective if implemented. I like how it tries to circumvent paralysis-by-analysis. Some good tips in here for sure. Unlike reading most books, this one demands active reader participation, which makes sense given the topic. I will keep it and re-read it, maybe bumping it to four stars.

  • Well Done TheodoreAmazing book with Attacking style helped me a lot i highly Recommended this book to everyone who Want to Be more productive it doesnt teach you How to be master of Your daily life it doesnt help to jump from 1 to 10 but Can moving you from 1 to 5 or 4 to 7 i realy liked this.

  • I found this book very interesting. There are some very useful tips easy to do and to understand, perfect for a easy transition to use the newfound skill you'll achieve of self-discipline and self-management.

  • Helps !a little ! As it said, to deal with a problem we must first recognize it. This books surely helps you do that. But solving is still in our hands. Writing goals and lists, everybody knows that! Still, this can help. Worth trying !

  • Short self-help book on how to go about doing things you've been thinking about doing for a long time. Short written exercises. Practical approach.

  • This book contains some useful thoughts on hoe subconscious influence our will to do something useful. It will interesting to read to those who experience procrastination problems.

  • I totally agree with Theodore Bryant when he said that self discipline is a teachable and learnable process, that it's not a personality trait. This book is suitable for everyone!

  • This book gives some tips but I cannot say that the writing and the format is really that good. I didn't find the book too useful or entertaining. Furthermore there is a lot of fluff. Also, I believe that some of the stuff is somehow dubious. For example "VItaminds" (which are affirmations) have been shown that they do not help you that much in reaching your goal. So the science on it is rather dubious. I believe that Kelly McGonigal's book "The Willpower Instinct" is a much better book on this [...]

  • There's a part of you who DO NOT want you to build the SKILL of self-discipline. Meet your inner Mr.Hyde, your fun-loving distracted inner-child and learn how to make it your friend so you'll enventually go from thinking to doing with more ease in your life. I really enjoyed this book and did all the exercises with my girlfriend, she really gained a lot from it.Recommended.

  • I liked the book, plain and simple language. Some important things that I learned from the book are:1) Importance of Reward system;2) It is never about Time Management, its always about self management.3) Set "Target Date" not "deadline".

  • This book is a practical guide to establishing goals and setting psychological boundaries for yourself. You really will need a minimum of 10 days and privacy to read this book as it takes you through exercises.

  • The book explores SOME of the aspects that stand as obstacles to action, presents some elementary exercises and actually is much worse than most of the "self-discipline" or "procrastination cure" books out there. If you have basic knowledge of human psychology and behavior, you don't need this. If you want to enhance your self-discipline skills, it might do you some good but don't expect to experience any dramatic change in "10 days", so the title is misleading. Thanks but no thanks.

  • for those people who are confused whether this will work or not take my advice it will work. best book on self discipline i have read and best self help bookthor describe the whole self discipline in easy to understand and easy to follow method.if you will follow this book's advice no doubt you will increase your self discipline .WARNING: DO NOT THINK THAT BY THE END OF THIS BOOK YOU WILL BECOME AS HARD WORKER AS TESLA, EDISON,COLT ETC. SELF DISCIPLINE IS A PROCESS.(IT WILL START BY READING THIS [...]

  • Pretty decent, due to my lack of self-discipline I did not do the activities every day as recommended but came pretty close. I think this is a good guidebook and perhaps starting block for those who suffer from a lack of self-discipline or I suppose direction. I refer back to it now and then and do at least think about stuff I should not blow off Still, as someone mentioned below, self-discipline takes practice and commitment.

  • A very valuable book that combines theory with practice in order to overcome procrastination. It includes many poisons that makes us usually behind of achieving our goals and dreams, at the same time it includes valuable techniques to overcome those poisons and make our dreams became a reality. The practice side is very helpful to understand oneself and how to be the master of ones own destiny once more after being manipulated by our laziness, procrastination and self-defeat.

  • This book is amazing!Although I consider myself as a follower of the "Kantian" discipline school, I found this book very informative and eye opening. Identifying the "Hyde" as a rebellious side of "self", and how to deal with it, will be the aha-moment for most readers. I highly recommend reading this book, doing the exercises one by one, and most importantly "think deeply" while you are reading it.

  • This book is incredibly practical. It deals with your inner conflict and negativity as well as giving you tips that work to overcome your own self-created road blocks. It's a quick and easy read. I recommend it to anyone that is plagued with an overall cynical out look on life for a quick and effective paradigm shift.

  • Simple and effective techniques to confirm the message of: Self-discipline is a teachable and learnable process. Anyone who learns the process can apply it in any chosen situation.Self-discipline is not a personality trait, not "I have self-discipline." But it is a skill, "I use self-discipline."In order to develop self-discipline skills, u need to understand how you subconscious mind works.
