  • Reviewed for Hearts On Fire Reviews3.5 Thiis a cute story of a somewhat snarky vampire, Lee, who is at the beach to check out a “haunted” lighthouse for his cousin who writes books about haunted tourist attractions. Since said cousin is footing the bill for the vacation, this works well. Lee can quickly get pictures and info of the lighthouse and then spend time on the beach (and no, he doesn’t sparkle) and sampling a different man every night. What happens instead is that he meets up with [...]

  • Review posted at The Armchair Reader.3.5 starsThough there's no need to read these stories in any certain order (the other being Megan Derr's Herbal Remedy), they are connected. The common denominator are two of the main characters. In this story, it is Jayden, who is the brother of the narrator of Megan Derr's story. I happened to read Megan's story first, so I found that I knew quite a bit about Jayden before I got to read his story. In Megan's story we see quite a bit of Jayden and his import [...]

  • It was a cute overall story with not a whole lot of plot outside of two guys meeting while one is on vacation. It was a nice start to what could be a better long story. There is a paranormal element that is briefly touched on.

  • This review can be found at Brief Encounters Reviews. This was a cute little story with an interesting take on vampires. Lee gets upgraded to a nicer hotel in exchange for helping out his cousin, and when he checks in sees super-cute receptionist Jayden. He tries to give him a little push of vamp power to convince him to come to his room, but it doesn't seem to work. Oh well, it's the beach, hotties galore. However Jayden shows up and is much more aggressive than Lee expected, but he's not one to [...]

  • What I like in this story* the absence of the usual vampire cliché I like original stories and this one is original, because the vampire (Lee) is not what you may think of a vampire.* it's very short, I read it in two hours, but it was enough to know the MCs and fall in love. Lee is insecure, cute, funny Jayden is mysterious (yep, not the vampire in this story is the mysterious guy!), lovely, and know what he want Both quick love story was cute! What made me take out a couple of stars from my fi [...]

  • Not the strong HEA type romance like but it showed more of how the MCs develop their relationships. They were somewhat bland to me despite knowing Jayden from the companion book. Here I finally learned how Jayden made a living (view spoiler)[, an entry-level hotel clerk. (hide spoiler)] This book also probably happened before(view spoiler)[ since Jordan still sported his long dread. (hide spoiler)]It was an easy read with more HFN than HEA. Just an ok read for me though.["br"]>["br"]>["br" [...]

  • The fact Jayden was immune to Lee's power didn't change the fact he tried to use it to 1. get him to sleep with him, and 2. bite him. And apparently that's all just dandy. What's with all the hand-wavey rape/dubious consent stories today? Not badly written, just a little boring. And some continuity stuff the editor missed. (Using a condom to give a blow job would mean Jayden's mouth should taste of LATEX not SEMEN. Unless he had a really defective condom.)

  • Review also posted on World of Diversity Fictions3.5 StarsThis is a story about Lee, a vampire, who does his cousin Astor a favor by going and checking out a haunted lighthouse. Astor writes books about haunted places and Lee figures he can make this into a vacation. Lee meets Jayden at the hotel he’s staying at, Jayden works there as a desk clerk. He takes a liking to Jayden and asks him what time he gets off to which Jayden replies “I don’t do room visits”. I knew then I was going to r [...]

  • A very laid back paranormal love story. Nothing really exciting happened, just two people meeting and hanging out. It's kinda refreshing. This is very nice to read when you need a break from books with heavy or serious content.

  • Lee and Jordon were interesting characters to get to know. I liked the pace their relationship took to develop and Lee's shyness and Jordon's confidence made this a fun read.

  • Great little short, very nice that it's kind of a completely different world; just like ours but with a completely open, no big deal supernatural element
