  • I read this with my husband. We read most of it, but stopped after the individual chapters explaining each language. I think we got the gist of it. I get where the author is coming from and really what is important about each language, but the way he puts it is very manipulating and like you are training a dog. I really didn't like that. It's worth reading though.

  • This was a great book! Eye opening. I would love to do a book club/group reading taking couples through this book together.

  • It has its moments. It was written for a religious audience, which isn't me. There are also many gender stereotypes used, which annoyed me.

  • Really a good book overall I think this book is geared to a religious audience, and I found a lot of gender bias. Outside of the unrealistic case studies, the message itself was enough to make it worth reading.

  • this is a good book to help you understand your partner friends and family members, its one of the books that you should read if you want to have long term relationship with others

  • good book- lots of good points on how to love the way your s.o likes to be lovedgood job of putting yourself in someone else's shoes

  • A well written expression of how people love. My husband and I read this together and learned somethings about each other in the process. While we both do many of the various 5 love languages for each other, we did not previously recognize these actions as an expression of love. Knowing how each of us thinks we can now recognize each others needs better and work to ensure that we do not forget any of the languages. After reading the book, we each wrote down what we felt ranked out own love langua [...]

  • The basic tenants of this book are very good. You will have to get past all of the religion as well as the gender stereotypes that the couples described in the book embody; the author is a christian marriage counselor who works with a certain age / type of person, so it's understandable. There's also no mention of non-married couples in the book, but everything that he describes pertains to anyone who's in a relationship. I found it pretty easy to ignore the outdated gender roles as well as the [...]

  • This one took me awhile for two reasons: 1. Burnt out from information overload and 2. I kinda found it a bit obvious and boring. Noe and I have been together for over a decade, we're in-tune and so I already knew her primary love language, except not in this author's description. I was looking to find an insight I didn't already know like others that had shared their experience. I guess, as I type this, my insight is that I'm on the right path in my marriage. I'd recommend this book for anyone [...]

  • Didn't like it too much but i am now aware of the ability to rather a gift in one way or another based on what they apprieciate.

  • I really enjoyed this book. It was eye opening! There is a sense of religousness throughout so this might not be perfect solution for everyone if they can't get over that.

  • Only read the 5 love languages first edition. The style's becoming a bit repetitive at a certain point, but it is definitely bringing out an idea every human being should (re)consider.

  • An interesting book that made me think about relationships and how to nurture and strengthen them. How to be honest.

  • A fantastic way to start a marriage. provides a nice framework to assess communication issues or failures of the expression of love.

  • I find myself living by the principles I learned in these books every dayevery moment, even. Life-changing and wonderful!Highly recommend.

  • I read "the five languages of love for children". It helped me understand my kids and be mindful in showing how much I love them each one with his own primary love language.
