  • Sad story, but I just couldn't stand this book. I listened to the narrated version, maybe that's why. I just don't like diary style without any really build up of characters.

  • Given as a gift, from my (non-injured) wife - I was made aware of it in advance. In addition to speaking with a Nursing friend, I began reading it with understanding of as a Hospital Patient. Although my injuries had differed from those of the focus of the story (Sam), I do see parallels between issues concerning Sally & my family. Through the more accurate details of my Nursing friend, I can see how a non-Injured family/friend (Sally) may have felt from her partner's Hospital treatment. From [...]

  • I finished work and decided to do some shopping for a lil bit after all mothers day is coming up!!! I ended up finding some new pj’s and i also got some ug boots which although comfortable look like huge clown boots on me haha i kept browsing the store for over and hour and decided to check out what they had for reading materials. Now I have to be honest I am a romantic at heart but to read HELL NO. But as I was going through the books available I found one that every time in the last week I ha [...]

  • Having seen a documentary on 60 minutes about Sally and Sam's plight, I thought the book might give a more recent update of events and how they are getting on, but it is really a diary of the first 12 months of Sally's experience. Believe me I have the utmost sorrow for what this young couple have gone through, and respect for their commitment to each other, and their individual strength at persevering through this tragedy. The book however felt a bit overly positive and gooey for me, personally [...]

  • True story, very moving, sad, shows how much one person is willing to give up their life for another, I thought Sally was very brave (Sammy too), I would like to know how they get on in the future. As for the diary type book itself, some readers may find this boring, I would think that is all you could write during such a trying time. I like the diary entry style, as I thought it gave you a better idea of what was going on in their everyday life.

  • Saw the 'Australian Story' segment and was looking forward to finding out more about the AMAZING 'Stillnox effect'. Unfortunately there were only a couple of incidental mentions in the last few pages.I hope Sam is still going from strength to strength and that their wedding day is twice as special after having to postpone it.

  • What a wonderful book. When I purchased it I was warned that I would be crying all through the book. I started crying in the first chapter and didn't stop. It is an incredible story of love, devotion and the human spirit.

  • Was a good book. Bit upsetting as it follows the struggles when your world is turned upside down for a year and a half due to medical conditions. Bit repetitive as it was a journal/diary also. It was a good read, sometimes you just had to put it down to have a break.

  • Loved this book its a beautiful true story of a young Brisbane man,22 is playing soccer and has 8 massive strokes. His fiancee totally stands by him through all the hospital drama that follows. This is an amazing story and a beautiful romance.

  • Fantastic book about love, hope and determination. It's amazing the lengths love will make you go. Book is fillied with both tears and laughter.

  • Touching tale of how life can change in an instant - a reminder to live life to the max and not to give up when the going get's tough.
